I was in a car accident and have been off work for 2 years for medical reasons . I have been told my benefits will stop and I no longer have a job to return to . Is this legal and am I entitled to severance .

Thank you for your question.

Yes, if you have been told that you no longer have a job to return to as a result of your medical leave, you will be entitled to severance. It is just a question of how much you will be entitled to. How much you will be entitled to will depend, among other things, whether your condition is permanent.

Please contact us at the number below for a consultation. We are also able to assist with disability matters. Kindly note that the time limit to file any claims is two years from the date the cause of action arose. As such, we strongly recommend that you contact us as soon as possible.
