Good Evening.
As a successful salesperson for the same company for 10+ years, earning 400k plus I was asked to take over for my boss who was retiring. I was given 2 years of uncapped income, to basically do both my job and his. Shortly after I accepted my team saw their commission capped.
I signed a contract that reduces my compensation at the 2 year anniversary, which is coming up very soon. I had no choice to accept, as I had a very large amount at stake if I refused to manage as my commission would have been capped immediately, and I had sales worth about 800k in commission on the books but not paid yet.
They intend to pay me $200k a year in salary to manage the company with no commission once the anniversary passes, and thankfully I’ll be paid out for existing sales at year end.
As part of my compensation for the last 2 years, the only « perk » to manage is that I earn 1% in shares for every million in net profit after tax and expenses.
I figure this might be worth 400-500k by the time I intend to resign in December.
I’d like representation to ensure I don’t make any mistakes, and can get all I’m entitled to.
