I'd like to hire employees, but our work comes and goes. So there may be 2 weeks of work, and no work for two weeks. Also, we don't work in the winter. Is there any precautions I need to take before hiring employees in this regard?

Good evening Jordan,

Generally as an employer, your best protection with respect to employee liability is a properly drafted employment contract.

Regarding your specific questions: seasonal employees' severance entitlements are different than non-seasonal employees. However, your best protection continues to be a properly drafted employment contract.

I recommend that you contact us or an employer-side employment lawyer to assess your business needs with respect to your employees.

Thank you,
Lior Samfiru
