If I'm dismissed during my probationary period because I wouldn't do something illegal is there anything I can Do?

Thank you for your question.

You may very well be entitled to compensation, depending on your contractual arrangement with your employer and how long your probationary period was (e.g. 3 months vs. 6 months). If you are asked to do something illegal, an employer cannot terminate you for cause. The question will be whether you are entitled to anything greater than what is in the Employment Standards Act, and that will depend on whether you have a written employment agreement, and if so, what is in that written employment agreement.
