I left a job I had been with for nearly 20 years to go work for a company that was much closer drive. I applied for purchaser and after I accepted the job, I was told I was logistics and inventory supervisor. The heat was on to change one of the employee's hours. She was hired half day Friday and I was asked to have her work until 5pm. I suggested that she get paid for the extra time. Not sure if this was the reason, but a few days later I was told I was terminated due to reorganization of purchasing and logistics and that my job was not being replaced. I know that the one coordinator at the company will not be able to handle everything left. During my interview, I expressed my concern about possible layoff if joining a new company and I was told that due to company growth, the possibility would not be likely.
