Hi. I started a job as a counter person last Thursday however go sick and couldn't go into work on Tuesday and for the rest of the week. My employer had texted me saying that he will need to move on to other candidates since he's already short staffed. Is he's reason for letting me go justified?

The new personal emergency leave provisions allow a person to take up to 10 days of sick leave and have their job protected. You should contact the Ministry of Labour to discuss your options with them.
