Add Comment Question: If an employee has given 4 weeks notice but the employer only wishes for two weeks how do you handle this, we are in the trades, and I fear that these guys will solicite my customers and not be productive while they are here. Answer: Thank you for reaching out to our firm. When an employee has given notice of their intention to quit, it is at the employer's discretion to waive that notice. However, if you do waive some or all of the notice period that the employee has provided, you have to pay them out for the remainder of that period.
