Add Comment Question: I sold my company in March 2017 and one of the employee continues to work for the new owner. He was paid for every hour he worked for and owed. Now that employee wants to sue me for the overtime he worked for and claims that he was not paid for all the hours!! Can he sue me after 15 months of working for someone else or just basic question is can I be sued? Answer: The transaction between you and the new owner does not extinguish the employee's right to sue you for outstanding wages as long as the claim is brought forward before March 2019.
