Add Comment Question: I got fired yesturday for absentism Answer: Thank you for your question. My name is Jon Pinkus and I am an employment lawyer with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP. You could be entitled to significant compensation, depending what you have been offered as a severance package. An employer can terminate your employment for almost any reason, as long as they pay you your proper severance. See our Free Severance Calculator at http://www.severancepaycalculator.com/ to find out what you may be owed. The vast majority of severance packages are completely inadequate. The only way that your employer could get out of paying you severance is if they had "just cause" for dismissal. It is highly unlikely that your absenteeism reaches that level. I often deal with an employees who have been terminated for absenteeism, to help them obtain compensation for severance. Please contact me at jon.pinkus@stlawyers.ca or 416-216-2844. I would be pleased to assist you. Your Comment * Your Email * Your Name * Your City Note, your name, city and email is not displayed on the website.
