Add Comment Question: I have been working for a dental office for more than 30 years. I am the manager. I was responsible for payroll, account payables, all accounting for the office and 2 of the dentists' corporations. I do all the tax also. The office was sold Jan 31, 2024 and I no longer do any financial things. I just supply the staffs payroll information. Is this considered conductive dismissal? Also I believe the new owner plans to eliminate our medical benefits. The owners pay for employee premiums. Can they eliminate benefits without notice? Also I am on salary and not paid hourly. The new owners and I seem to have a different opinion on what that means. Can you clarify that as well? Answer: Thank you for your question. In some instances, an employer's unilateral change to the terms and conditions of an employee's employment may result in a constructive dismissal. However, in order to provide a more fulsome assessment, we will need to review the specific terms of your employment, including but not limited to your employment contract/agreement.
