Add Comment Question: Hello, I work in IT at an insurance company. We're a small team of only 6 people but because I am very quick at processing emails, my supervisor gave me a lot more work than everybody else in the team (300 emails/day versus about 30/day in the team). I accepted it because I believe in hard work. However after 8 months, I burned out and developed a major depression. I saw a psychiatrist who advises that I take a sick leave until I am better. SunLife rejected my disability claim saying it's the employer's fault not theirs. I would like to know if I can sue my employer for unfair workload that has caused my depression. Ben Answer: Thank you for your question. Anyone can theoretically sue but we need further information to actual advise whether such a claim would have any chance of success.
