For the past 14 years, 2 of us have received on-call pay every 2 weeks. The yearly total of the pay accumulates to about 9% of our salary. We have asked numerous times to just roll it into our base salary, but each time were told it is easier to keep it as on-call pay. That way it doesn't look like we are getting large merit increases, while no one else is getting any.

Now they are talking about taking away this on-call pay. Can they do that and just remove 9% of our income?

While they may remove the on-call pay, you have no obligation to accept this and may have the option of walking away and claiming constructive dismissal. Please contact us at the number below for a consultation with a lawyer to discuss your employment situation.
