If a company terminates an employee and provides a package to pay an extra 4 months' salary per payroll continuation. Does the company need to pay accrued vacation for the extended 4 months?
Thank you for your question. Assuming that the employee does not work during the salary continuance, he/she accrues vacation pay only for the payments corresponding to the statutory notice. The statutory notice consists of one week per year of service up to a maximum of 8 weeks.
