I recently sent confidential info to my gmail by accident. My manager was informed and they discussed it. It does violate our code of conduct but it was an accident. Could this be used against me say down the road if I am let go for any other reason? Would I be denied severance?

Thank you for your question. Unless you were reprimanded for the incident at the time it happened, your employer will not be able to rely upon the incident in the future. Also, if it was an honest mistake, then there is likely no recourse there for your employer.
