I had a contract with a company from January to July 2023 for employment. The employer lost said contract for reasons unknown to me. I was told that I was still under contract. I was not offered any other work. Nor was I reimbursed for expenses and they shorted my pay with hours and travel time. They have since ghosted me and will not return any calls or emails. This is section 6 in my contract.
6. Upon completion of your Probation Period, we may terminate your employment
without further obligation or liability of any kind, including without limitation, any
common law reasonable notice or severance, by giving you the minimum notice or
pay in lieu required by the British Columbia Employment Standards Act.
Notwithstanding this, if just cause exists, we may immediately terminate you without
further obligation or liability, including without limitation, any obligation to provide
notice or severance pay.

M question is. Am I entitled to severance pay from the company?

You are absolutely entitled to severance. It is strongly recommended that you schedule a consultation with one of our lawyers to go over you situation in more detail and provide you with your options. If your employer is not responding to you they cannot ignore a lawyer.
