I'm an employer in Ontario with 6 full-time employees in Mississauga without a relocation clause. We are relocating offices to Burlington. The employees have been with us for 1 - 3 years maximum. Is a letter to each employee with sufficient notice (6 - 8 weeks) about the move enough or do I have other obligations?

You are correct that proper notice is required and based on this information, it appears that the notice being provided is likely sufficient for the purposes of the Employment Standards Act as long as the notice is provided in writing and is appropriately drafted. It is possible, however, that there may be other terms in your employment agreements which need to be considered. It would be advisable to contact our firm to schedule a call with one of our lawyers in order to ensure you are taking all required steps and effecting this change appropriately.
