Ask your question about terminations, dismissals and lay offs and an employment lawyer in Ontario, BC or Alberta will answer in minutes
Hello,
I was a senior manager formerly of Essar Steel Algoma, owned by an east Indian company, located in Sault Ste. Marie. I was recently (February 22nd) wrongfully terminated while the company is under CCAA. There was no notice, no severance and I have no pension. The termination was classified as downsizing the organization.
I have been a very successful General Manager for 6 years. I started my career in 1978, and worked my way up to senior levels of management. I resigned in 2007, and was rehired in 2010, holding senior level positions throughout the industry. Each of the 6 years, performance appraisals have been excellent with bonus. I have never been disciplined or demoted.
Today, I submitted a claim form through the CCAA process with relevant documentation, with claims for severance and associated damages against Officers of the company, where I have cited human rights and discrimination violations.
I need representation, and cannot afford heavy legal fees or retainers.
Can you please help me.
The CCAA process is a complicated one. We would want to review the documentation that you filed as well as get further particulars regarding your employment. Please contact our office to schedule a consultation to go over your options moving forward.
