I was terminated early while being on a 6 months contract without notice. The employment agency called me right after finishing my shift at 6 pm to notify me that my services would no longer be required. I still had another month left on my contract. Was this fair? I disclosed my disability 2 months before my termination because I was calling in sick once a week, and therefore provided a medical note proving my disability and requesting accommodation. I can't seem to find any other reason for the termination. Please help.

In a situation, such as yours, where a person is working under a fixed-term contract that is terminated early, then they are typically entitled to be paid for the remainder of the contract. This will depend on whether or not the written contract, if there is one, contained a valid termination clause, which could limit the person to less.

It also sounds as though you are concerned about a potential human rights violation. In order to determine whether or not you have a case in this respect, we would need considerably more information to make a determination. If you would like to discuss this, or any other aspect of your matter, with an employment lawyer, please contact the number below to set-up a consultation.
