I recently got terminated by my employer. They offer six weeks pay. I worked there almost 6 years, but this company still have not pay me many hours of overtime, stat. Holidays and vacation pay. Now they terminated me without paying for the money they owe me, so what should i do?

Hi David,

My name is Chris Justice and I am an employment lawyer with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP. In answer to your question, you are likely owed the overtime pay, holiday pay, and vacation pay you mentioned, depending on how far back you are owed those monies.

You may also be owed further termination pay beyond the 6 weeks' pay they have offered. If they are insisting you sign something before you can collect any money, I would hold off from doing so before consulting with a lawyer. As I said, and depending on whether or not you have a contract of employment, you may be owed much more than just 6 weeks' pay.

I recommend that you give me a call. From there I can gather more information and be in a better position to fully advise you as to your rights and entitlements. Please call me directly at 416-216-5859 to discuss the matter further.

Thanks David.
