Hi There, I have been terminated from my job after being on Short Term Disability Leave for a month (Nov 4th-Dec4th) as per doctor's orders for I was injured. I have contacted the labour board in regards to what my options were and told them that on January 30th, 2014 I was terminated from my job as well due to restructuring and received Severance. I working for Future Shop then. Then on October 4, 2014 I returned back to Future Shop and on April 2015 Future Shop was shut down and was turned into Best Buy. I receive a pay out for staying on board for Best Buy. I started with Future Shop July 2008 as per the agent at the board I was told that the first Severance would be voided since I returned back to work within the 1st year. Now I would just like to get some clarifications to that and also about the fact that I was on Short Term Disability leave having returned to work on Dec 4th and being terminated on Dec 9th, not being back to work for a full week, if this was right for them to do?

Although your employer can terminate you after a short-term disability leave, the circumstances are certainly suspicious and we would require more information before properly advising you.
