I was given working notice after the contract (building) where I worked was cancelled, (I am a condominium lawyer). They said that they did not have any other positions available and my termination was on March 15th. Seven days later they posted a notice for a position which I was suitable. The most important part of this is that after an accident I had last April 2015 I had major damage to my face and teeth. They approved all the work for my teeth, through my employee benefits but refused to pay for the balance of the work since I would no longer be employed even though the accident happened while I was out of the county and covered under my accidental dental travel insurance. I would just like to know if there is anyway I can get them to pay for this work since I do not have the funds to have it done myself and future benefit plans will not cover it as I was not insured with them at the time of the accident.

You may be entitled to both termination pay and damages on account of their refusal to pay for the dental work. However, we would need to review both your employment agreement and benefits plan to determine the answer to these questions. Please contact our firm to discuss the matter further.
