Ask your question about terminations, dismissals and lay offs and an employment lawyer in Ontario, BC or Alberta will answer in minutes
Hello, I work in IT at an insurance company. We're a small team of only 6 people but because I am very quick at processing emails, my supervisor gave me a lot more work than everybody else in the team (300 emails/day versus about 30/day in the team). I accepted it because I believe in hard work. However after 8 months, I burned out and developed a major depression. I saw a psychiatrist who advises that I take a sick leave until I am better. SunLife rejected my disability claim saying it's the employer's fault not theirs. I would like to know if I can sue my employer for unfair workload that has caused my depression. Ben
Thank you for your question. Anyone can theoretically sue but we need further information to actual advise whether such a claim would have any chance of success. Please give us a call at the number below to discuss your matter.
